Natural Food Dye Frosting Color Guide

So, if you've been following us for a while you know that when we first opened we didn't offer anything with color (unless it came from fruits or vegetables) because we refused to use artificial colors. I was looking for natural food dyes (that actually work) for a while when I finally found ColorKitchen. The owner and I have become friends and we constantly collaborate on projects. And everyone here at the bake shop is such a fan of her company. If you haven't checked out ColorKitchen, please visit her site buy some colors. I promise you, they really work! And if you're local you can stop by the shop because we sell them there.

I have been using ColorKitchen for a while now and we have created literally almost every single color of the rainbow. So, I figured since I already know how to do that I would share it with you. After all, it is the sharing season. And Holiday Baking Season can really be way more fun when you can play with color, right?!

Below is our Dessert'D Organic Bake Shop Natural Food Dye Frosting Color Guide. There's a recipe for our favorite Vanilla Buttercream Frosting, or you can use your own. All you need is some ColorKitchen food dyes, which you can buy in our shop or on their website here. And, you'll need a bag of Raw Activated Charcoal, which you can find here. Happy Holiday baking!
