Easy Valentine's Day Rice Crispy Treats

Today I am sharing a really easy Valentine's Day recipe that can be made for anyone you love. This recipe is so easy it doesn't even require you to turn on your oven!


I grew up making rice crispy treats frequently. We always had the cereal in our house and it was something my mom and I did together often. And I LOVE rice crispy treats. But, when I went organic they have become something that has always been out of my reach because no one makes an organic rice crispy cereal - yet. I am still hoping one will come out so I can make my own rice crispy treats again and trust me when that happens, I'll have a recipe for you here!

But, in the meantime I came across the Made Good Foods brand and found they actually make organic rice crispy treats! They make all kinds of other amazing snacks, like a chewy granola bars that reminds me childhood, granola, and more. But, when I saw their rice crispy treats I knew I would be getting them.




So today I have used Made Good Foods Rice Crispy Treats and dipped them in simple white chocolate for a Valentine's Day treat that everyone is sure to love. This recipe is so easy, so quick, you can do it with your kids, and they're definitely a crowd pleaser! I tempered the white chocolate, but as I always say, you can skip this step if you don't want to and just melt it completely. Valentine’s Day Rice Crispy Treats

Makes 6


1 Box Made Good Rice Crispy Treats (find here)

6 ounces (170 grams) organic white chocolate, finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon ColorKitchen Pink Dye


Method

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.


Using a double boiler, add about 80% of the white chocolate and melt until it reaches 100°F on a chocolate thermometer. Remove from heat and add in the remaining white chocolate and stir vigorously to melt completely. Allow the chocolate to come down to 89°F before using.


Evenly split the white chocolate into two bowls. Add the pink dye into one bowl and stir to combine completely.


Dip rice crispy treats half way into either the white chocolate or the pink white chocolate and place on the prepared baking sheet. Using the remaining chocolate, drizzle pink onto the white chocolate dipped treats and drizzle white onto the pink chocolate dipped treats.


Place in the fridge to set the chocolate. Store in the fridge or in a cool dry place.
